We encourage you to generally wash your clothes as little as possible (and only if they are allowed to be washed) to preserve their quality, especially if they are made of natural materials such as wool, hemp, cotton, cashmere etc. Instead of washing your clothes after each use, shake them out thoroughly and air them out, which is often enough to wear them again.
It is important to read the care label carefully (and not to cut it off !) to ensure that each garment is properly cared for. This prevents damage and prolongs its life. Become familiar with the following care instructions we use for our products:
If you have to wash your clothes, follow the care instructions on the label. Avoid harsh detergents and fabric softeners, which can damage the fibers. Try to use delicate detergent (e.g. for wool). Always consider hand washing or air drying your natural fiber clothing to extend its lifespan. Keep in mind that some products must not be washed at all. For example our suits, trousers and blazers as well as our silk scarves must not be washed, but only dry cleaned (if necessary).
Here is our hypothesis: We believe that people wearing and investing in natural garments instead of synthetics are more likely to build a genuine connection to their garments. Although natural materials offer better quality and are more environmentally friendly than synthetic fibers, they demand more attention and care which ultimately requires customers to properly engage with their garments. Further, the garments are designed to evolve and adapt to your body over time. As you wear them, the fabric softens and molds to your shape, creating a truly personalized fit. With their ability to change and adapt, our garments become a part of your story, evolving with you and reflecting your individual journey. You don’t believe us? Try it out.
Storing garments properly is crucial to maintain their quality, preserve their lifespan, and prevent damage or discoloration. Here are some tips:
- Make sure your garments are clean and completely dry before storing them. Dirt, sweat, and moisture can attract insects and cause discoloration or damage to the fabric.
- Consider the type of garment when deciding whether to fold or hang. For example our suit trousers and blazer should be carefully hung, while knitwear should be folded. Always prefer a sturdy wooden hanger over a flimsy metal one when hanging clothes.
- Store your garments in a cool, dry, and dark place such as a closet with closable doors to prevent discoloration and damage from sunlight or humidity. Our silk scarves are best stored by keeping them in their scarf box. Avoid storing garments in attics, basements, or areas that are exposed to heat and moisture.
- Use mothballs or cedar blocks to protect your garments from moths and other insects especially when its natural high end fibers such as wool, cashmere or silk
